First I just attempted to add my normal upgrades (dischargers etc) while retaining the original weapons systems and FP armor and such.  I had to bump it up a price class, which may feel like a violation of the upgrade rules, except that I wouldn't have such a ridiculous system of weapons in my modern sensibility.
