Arbingor 2063 - Div80, Div40 Pickup (Update)

(max 7800), $79,160.00

  • Cheap Option - Pickup, Xtra-Heavy Chassis, Heavy Suspension, Thundercat PP (15dp), 6 Radial-Solid Tires (11dp), Driver (no equip), HL front; safety seat, 10 dischargers: 4 oil (FBRL) 6 smoke (2T, 2U, 1R 1L): 4 bumper triggers (to oil & also linked to that side's weapons); 0 total links, 38 pts total for Wheelguards/Wheelhubs (usu 2x10pt WG rear, 2x9pt WH front); 162 pts Plastic Armor: F 33 B 33 R 35 L 35 T 11 U 15; HC: 3, Acc. 10, Top Speed 165, Pwr 6700, 7799 lbs. (max 7800), $39,894.00

Design Notes - This is an update of this 2037 design:
Pickup, Xtra-Heavy Chassis, Heavy Suspension, Thundercat PP, 6 PR Tires, Driver; HL front, 10 pts Component Armor around HL, 202 pts FP Plastic Armor: F 50 B 40 R 40 L 40 T 12 U 20; HC: 2 Acc. 10, 7792 lbs., $37,088.00

The original design was obsoete because back in the day, CA took no space.  Given the guts of this car is "T-cat + HL," and that took all available space, I needed to drop the CA.  The upgrade cost double the original, so I made a "cheap" version to keep it within the same division.

While the T-cat is designed to haul loads, I have no freakin' idea how the whole trailer system works - that was added when I was away and I don't see the rules for it clearly.

I preserved the basic, cruddy, weapon system in order to retain the core identity, except for the MG because "why?"

Batterstorm - Div100 Camper

Camper (sloped/streamlined), Xhvy Ch., Hvy.-Active Sus., 6 SD-FP-radial Tires, Sport PP (PC/SC), Driver; ITL & VFRP (60/AP) in 3-space turret, LGL to 60 rockets, cyberlink to ITL, 10 oil/smoke dischargers, 4 bumper triggers, 4 laser-reactive webs, HTM, Overdrive, ABS-HD brakes, HD shocks, no paint windshield, 9 pts WG back, 5 pt WH front, 9 pts LR-FP CA around PP & driver, 145 pts sloped LRFP Armor: F30 B30 R30 L30 T15 U10; HC 4, Acc. 5(10/2.5 - HTM/Overdrive), Top 120 (90/140), 7799.6 lbs., $94,012.50
  • Straight Cyberlink Option (Div80) - remove ITL & LGL, cyberlink directly to VFRP, add 3 pts armor, 7795.8 lbs, $79,710

  • Div35 Economy Option - Camper, Xhvy Ch., Hvy. Sus., 6 SD-radial Tires, Super PP, Driver; VFRP (60/AP) in 3-space turret, HRSCW to VFRP, ID (15/reg) back, 10 oil/smoke dischargers, 4 bumper triggers, 4 laser-reactive webs, 40 pts WG/WH, 9 pts LR-FP CA around PP & driver, 164 pts sloped plastic Armor: F30 B30 R38 L38 T16 U12; HC 3, Acc. 5, Top 90, 7799.4 lbs., $34,687

  • Div50 Laser Economy Option - same as economy but add ITL in turret, LGL to 60 rockets, remove 2 pts from front WH, remove 3 pts reg armor, $48,993

Design Notes - I've been thinking more and more about how much I should like the VFRP. The expensive option uses the full complement of aiming, and depending on your desired division there are options. Even the cheapest, Div35, has a 7 to hit for a potential of 6d+6 damage - and 10 shots of that! It also adds the ID for defense (I usually go with a FOJ for 2-space defense, but not when I rely on a laser). Armor is still a bit light, but them's the breaks with campers. I think I'll try this with a pickup to see if I can make it work.

Master Rammer - Div80 Luxury

Luxury, C/A frame, Xhvy Ch., Hvy-Active Sus., Large PP (PC/SC), driver & gunner, 4 FP-SD tires, GG in turret, HDFT-HT front, FOJ back (10 shots), 8 IcD (1F 1B 2R 2L 2 U, 4 sides linked to bumper triggers), fake ramplate & fake ram-blades, HD-Antilock brakes, HD shocks, roll cage, 2 safety seats, 2 hi-res comp., spoiler & airdam, no-paint windshield, HTM & overdrive, 9 pts. LRFP CA around crew and 9 around PP, crew each have blended-IBA, FP suit, PFE, 2 explosive grenades; 166 pts. LRFP armor: F30 B30 R35 L35 T19 U17; Acc. 5 (10), Top: 92.5 (67.5/112.5); HC 4(5); 6659.2 lbs, $76232.50

  • FP Option - convert armor to only FP, make tires FP-Radial, CA also only FP and make full 10 pts, add 11 pts armor, HC 5(6), 6600 lbs., $80,850

Design Notes - This is from last year and I was fascinated by the new concept of the C/A frame. With the changed ramming rules the C/A doesn't seem as suicidal as it probably once was. But for design-freaks like me, it allows so much variation. And armor! I thought the best way to avoid the suicide of C/A was to advertise the car as a rammer. The original design had a lot of fake-weapons and blow-through concealments, but I dropped those in favor of a bit more armor.

    Wizard 2037 - Div80 Copter

    Small Copter, Small PP, CACR, pilot, 2 linked Twin-Lasers front, 1 space bomb rack with 1 bomb; cyberlink to TwLs; 190 pts Armor: F40 R35 L35 B35 U40 T5; HC 3, Acc 5?, 7850 lbs., $79,050

Design Notes: This is a pretty nasty chopper (I could probably do without the bomb and put in some kind of missile system). I should upgrade/update. I happen to be partial to Twin Lasers (I'll save the discussion for a rant).

Update Nov 13, 2013: The CACR was called a "double blade" system, at least by me, back in 2037.  And the Twin Laser was a Double Laser.
